The Origin — the larger expression

The Origin

The larger expression of the Origin line. Same correction architecture as the Compact, same direct measurement, same FPGA signal path — given a more capable enclosure, more cone area, and the bass extension that follows from both. The exact driver complement and topology are being finalized; the architecture is not.

01 Where the Origin sits

The architecture given more enclosure

The Origin Compact is the smallest expression of the Excité architecture — small enough to be uncompromised, but small enough to be limited by physics in the lowest octave. The Origin is the same architecture, given a larger enclosure, more cone area, and the bass extension that follows from both. It is for rooms that ask for more, where the Compact is at the limit of what its size can deliver.

What is not different from the Compact: the FPGA correction platform, the per-driver amplification, the linear-phase FIR crossover, and the direct measurement of every driver non-linearity that meaningfully contributes to harmonic and intermodulation distortion. Every parameter is measured directly, both during driver characterization and continuously during operation, and the correction is built from those measurements sample by sample.

What is different: enclosure dimensions, driver complement, and the bass extension and SPL ceiling that scale with both. Those specifics are being finalized, and we will publish them when the design is locked — not before.

02 What is known

The architecture is locked. The drivers are not

The Origin shares the entire signal path that runs through every Excité loudspeaker. From digital input through conversion, linear-phase FIR crossover, feed-forward correction loop on FPGA, and per-driver Class D amplification, nothing about the chain changes between Compact and Origin. Driver-level non-linearity is measured directly during characterization and continuously during operation; the correction is grounded in present-tense measurement at every sample.

The driver complement and the enclosure that holds it are still being finalized. Topology — whether the Origin is a two-way, two-and-a-half-way, or three-way; standmount or floorstanding — will be published when the design is locked. This page describes what is locked. The rest will follow.

Specifications when the design is locked

We do not publish dimensions, drivers, or performance figures while a product is still being engineered. When the Origin's complement is final, this page will be replaced with the full specification, measurement data, and listening notes — not a moment before.
